There was a long period of time in my life when I opted for soap rather than cleansers for my face. The mere mention of cleanser would bring flashbacks of the bad skin years when I used an impressive array of face washes marketed to the teens of the 90’s. They were definitely not natural nor were they doing my skin any good.
Over the past few years, I’ve made my way back to using cleansers, trying an impressive variety of exfoliating scrubs, oil-based cleansers, and most recently, milk. This isn’t the kind you pour in your coffee or a recipe for DIY beauty but rather a cleansing milk. A super gentle face wash for skin that needs tender loving care. And when doesn’t skin need extra love? In the summers, the heat plays havoc. And in the fall and winter, the indoor heat and Canadian winter leave skin crying for extra love.
Cleansing Milk is also the perfect partner for the double-cleansing method.
The double-cleansing method works just like it sounds. You wash your face twice. On days that I wear makeup, I always do a double cleanse. First, I use an oil-based face wash and wipe it away with a sponge or a washcloth. Then, I follow up by applying a cleansing milk like KIN Organic’s Gentle Cleansing Milk with my fingers. It’s a creamy cleanser that can be used daily, and also works well alone to lift dirt without leaving your face feeling dry.
All of KIN Organics products start with three key natural ingredients:
- Calendula (soothing and gentle, known for its healing properties)
- Jojoba (antioxidant, emollient, anti-inflammatory, cleansing, balancing, high in Vitamin E)
- Rose essential oil (antibacterial, anti-fungal, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, astringent, moisturizing, cooling, and toning, aids in skin repair and regeneration, balancing, reduces redness, increases hydration and radiance, as well as purifies pores).
After cleansing your face and while it is still damp, do your skin a favour and apply your serum. A serum contains active ingredients, like KIN Organic’s Revitalizing Facial Serum. It contains organic Rosehip seed oil which is very rich in essential fatty acids which helps to treat skin by plumping, moisturizing, hydrating, preventing acne, reducing redness and hyper-pigmentation. Don’t forget your neck!
