Valentine’s Day is around the corner. I love celebrating this day with my husband simply because it forces us to have a date night, usually a glass of wine followed by a late dinner once the kids are in bed.
We try to exchange gifts that are on theme with Valentine’s Day yet aren’t so clearly cupid that they get tossed into a keepsake box once February is over. These are my top choices for eco-friendly Valentine’s Day gifts-hopefully hubby will read this post! All the products can be found online but do check the retailers list to find out where to purchase them at a store near you.
LOVEFRESH sugar scrub: I already adoring using LOVEFRESH body butter and their non-toxic deodorant as part of my daily green beauty routine. I know their sugar scrub will help me form even tighter bonds with this Canadian non-toxic beauty company as I exfoliate my skin in the shower. I want the pink pomegranate scrub but you can choose from many scents.
Evoke the Elements perfume: I’ve long given up wearing perfume due to the toxic ingredients found in conventional fragrance products but I miss wearing it! Evoke perfumes are made for people like me (and you) who want 100% essential oil/plant based fragrance. There are five scents available based on Chinese medicine and aromatherapy. Each are designed to evoke certain emotions.
Red and White Southbrook Connect Organic Wine: Connect is my favourite anytime Ontario wine. I love that it’s organic, available for a great price in most LCBO stores, and pairs nicely with any foods.
Giddy YoYo chocolate: Canadian-made, Fair-Trade vegan chocolate already makes me swoon. The flavours are so rich that you won’t mind sharing a bar with someone you love.
bkr Bottle: These glass bottles are so pretty that they seem more like an accessory rather than a way to get my hydration on. The silicone sleeves come in plenty of colours but I dig the hearts. It’s Valentine’s Day after all!
Strawesome: I became a glass straw convert this summer as my boys and I sipped our daily green smoothies. Switching to a reusable straw is an easy (and pretty) way to up your green game! I can imagine this special edition Be Mine Straw going nicely with a bkr bottle!
Matt & Nat: I can’t believe that I don’t own a Matt & Nat bag yet! They are a Montreal-based, vegan company with a commitment to sustainable, eco-friendly design. The poppy coloured clutch would add a hit of colour to my mainly black and white wardrobe. Their bags tend to sell out fast but there are many designs from which to choose.
