A good friend and I were discussing libido the other day and how it cycles through the years. We discussed that when you are in your 30’s, you are so busy with young children and the everyday stressors of life, you are very tired and being romantic can sometimes be the last thing on your mind.
We were also discussing that as you approach your mid 40’s and the children get older, this typically (but not always) means less stress, which can lead to more energy and increased interest in bedroom activities other than sleeping. While it’s great news for women in their 30’s to know they have something to look forward to, a decade is a long way to wait. Fortunately, there are ways to boost your libido and essential oils are one of the best.
Five Essential Oils To Boost Libido
This essential oil comes from the orange blossom instead of the peel, which makes it a very exquisite oil. It is very useful for balancing hormones and stress, which makes it a great aphrodisiac. It can be used in a diffuser throughout the day or used in a massage oil.
This is one of my favourite essential oils. The woodsy, masculine, but also feminine oil makes it a sensual oil and can be used as a perfume (diluted) as well as in a body oil or massage oil.
Jasmine is also derived from the flower petals. This makes it an expensive oil, but it can be purchased already diluted in jojoba oil. It is well worth its price as researchers tested alertness and “behavioral arousal” after a topical treatment of jasmine oil. This can also be used in a perfume or massage oil.

This essential oil may be a surprise to most people as it’s not a common essential oil, but this oil packs a punch. This is a warming, spicy oil that strengthens circulation. It can stimulate the appetite, literally and sexually. (Always dilute using a carrier oil when using topically.)
The most beneficial way to use essential oils for libido is in a body oil or a massage oil. The following is a recipe that can be used for either.
Massage & Body Oil Recipe To Boost Your Libido
- 4 oz of avocado oil (fractionated coconut oil or sweet almond oil can also be used)
- 4 drops of neroli
- 4 drops of sandalwood
- 4 drops of black pepper
- 1/8th tsp vitamin e (this is optional, but helps to the oil to last longer)
Place in a dark, glass bottle and shake well. Enjoy!
