Essential oils are a blessing in disguise. Many people do not know about the amazing benefits that they can provide.
Aromatherapy, which has been around for over 6000 years is the therapeutic use of essential oils to promote physical and psychological well-being. Pure essential oils provide countless benefits. They can be used in many ways, such as massage, inhalations and in the bath.
Essential Oils For Winter
There are a few essential oils I would like to share with you that will help you get through the winter months.
This essential oil is one of my favourites in the winter. Eucalyptus has been known to help with sinus infections, coughs, colds, and headaches. It can be used in a chest rub recipe when mixed with a carrier oil. Eucalyptus should be avoided if you are pregnant.
Oils To Warm Your Feet
One of my biggest complaints in the winter is cold feet. I always have cold feet.
There are some essential oils that are very warming for cold feet. Some of them are Clove, Ginger, Black Pepper and Cinnamon. You can add one drop of each (or pick two for a blend) to two TBS of carrier oil and mix well.
You can either add it to a foot bath or rub it on your feet and put on a pair of socks before bed. The more you rub them, the warmer your feet will get.
Run A Bath
There is nothing like a hot bath in the winter! Essential oils are the perfect way to make a bath more luxurious. Add two to three drops of Lavender and two to three drops of Geranium (one of my favourites) to either a few tablespoons of carrier oil or one cup of whole milk and then pour it into your bath. Geranium is wonderful for unwinding and for stress-related ailments.
